OUNDATIONS of Elementary Science and Technology



The following Skills Continua were developed to provide a logical and developmentally appropriate sequence of steps in acquiring and developing skills in these critically important areas. They are organized in rows representing steps in either the inquiry or the design process (see below), and in columns representing grade level groupings that are based on developmental stages, and common ways of organizing curriculum materials.
The complete versions of each continuum (with important background information) are posted separately as draft versions for SCCAO members and interested others to comment on; please send comments to the Discussion Forum. Comments will be gathered, analyzed, and summarized in a report to members, and will be used as one of the pieces of information taken forward to the Ministry of Education Sustaining Quality Curriculum initiative (Science and Technology are scheduled for review beginning in September, 2005).
